Griffinwood Tutor Center provides a comfortable, friendly environment where parents can supplement their children's educational activities. We offer small group tutoring, as well as one-on-one tutoring in math, phonics, reading, and language arts. We also offer enrichment classes in art, history, geography, and study skills. Add field trips and fun educational projects and Griffinwood is much more than your "usual" tutoring center. Homeschoolers can attend for a morning or a full day and parents know they are in good hands.

Welcome to Griffinwood Tutor Center!

Griffinwood is an ideal tutoring solution for both homeschool and traditionally-educated students. We serve children and families from pre-kindergarten through elementary and middle school. Besides receiving small group (1:4) or private tutoring, students can enjoy a range of classes and activities to supplement their studies.

We believe that instruction should be done in the most interesting and simplest way possible to achieve understanding. We always try to make learning fun, and our tutors excel at keeping students engaged and happy. If a student appears bored, we know it is our lesson that is at fault, not the child.

Visit our Testimonials page to see what other parents and students have to say about their experiences at Griffinwood.

We invite you to come by and see what we are all about.  We are located in the heart of Orange County, near the Tustin / Santa Ana border. Please schedule a tour here or call (657) 267-0101.

OMG! My 7 year old son came home from school yesterday telling me he is learning how to code on the computer! I'm like say what? At age 7? He woke up today again telling me how much he likes this computer coding thing. Is this normal at his age?

Before I found Griffinwood, I’d tried 5 different Kindergartens for my son, but none seemed to fit. Within his first month here, Johnathan read his very first book. He’s now learning at a pace I’ve never seen before. He’s excited to attend school and when I pick him up, he usually asks if he can stay longer. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for.

We assist homeschooling parents with their child’s education in a positive, comfortable environment. Students can receive small group tutoring and classes in desired subjects (see our schedule) or simply show up with their materials and receive expert supervision and assistance on a drop-off basis.

We also tutor public and private school students. We are experts at finding the source of a student’s confusions or difficulties, and remedying those so that he or she can move forward.   Read More

Do some children have a harder time learning? Without a doubt, some students may appear to have learning difficulties, particularly in reading or math. Yet those same children are often masters at playing video games or navigating Mom’s smart phone. They often show great skill in sports, the arts or other subjects – all of which required them to in fact do a great deal of learning!

Contrary to popular belief, almost any child can learn when properly taught. In the words of Helen Keller, who overcame incredible physical disabilities to become a highly educated, successful adult, “Every child has a right to be well-born, well-nurtured and well-taught.”

If your child seems to have a hard time in school, or complains of hating or says he “can’t do” certain subjects, or has been diagnosed as having a “learning disability” (in the absence of standard medical testing identifying actual physical impairment), we urge you to come and see us at Griffinwood and find out what we can do to help.

We recognize every child is unique, with their own strengths, gifts and skills.
